This is our story

After working years in the oil patch, all to provide a way to finance my desire to kiteboard and travel, I took a year to do it. My first kiteboarding experience was in Thailand over 12 years ago. Let me tell you - it was something else. Patched together gear, no safety releases, Thai speaking instructor, and a bloom of jellyfish. It didn’t matter - I was hooked. Since than I’ve been able to kiteboard in some of the most amazingly breathtaking places in the world, Sri Lanka, the Philippians, Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand and Canada. Yes Canada is an amazing place to Kiteboard.

I started this company to provide a way to grow the sport of Kite Boarding and Kite Skiing. With very few places in Alberta to take lessons, I was forced to progress the hard way. Our company wants to help people learn kiteboarding in a safe and controlled manner. Nothing brings us more joy than seeing a student get up on the first lesson. With new cutting edge safety equipment and state of the art kites, we hope to get you comfortable and confident in the first few days. The excitement of getting up on a board and experiencing the feeling of flight will hook you. We also want to provide our expertise in purchasing equipment. Our belief is that our kites and equipment should be at a price point that allows people to access what they need without breaking the bank.

Kite Alberta values quality of life experiences. We have a deep passion for helping people experience life in a transformative way. Experience things that push them outside of their box and help them grow and face a bit of fear, and feel the rush of succeeding. With that in mind, we launched Kite Alberta.
